German government warns against Microsoft IE

As the battle between internet browsers progresses, with new contestants such as Google Chrome entering the game and Apple's Safari gaining its niche thanks to the widespread iPhone, Microsoft's own Internet Explorer remains perhaps the one which attract most criticism from users and experts.

However, now even the German state has takes a position against the usage of IE, encouraging users to abandon Microsoft IE and find an alternative browser. This warning from the Federal Office for Information Security comes as Microsoft admits its umpteenth security flaw.

Amongst the most influential alternatives to Microsoft IE, one may freely download the latest version of Mozilla's Firefox, Apple's Safari and Google's Chrome. All three browsers offer extensive features and are available for both Windows and OSX platforms.
